The North Coast Singers Youth Chorus was founded in 1993 by Sally Husch Dean, as a community outreach program of the San Dieguito
Methodist Church, Encinitas. The chorus was an official program of the Boys and Girls Clubs of San Dieguito from 1994 to 2003.
In 2003 it became a part of The San Dieguito Performing Arts Association, a non-profit arts organization. In addition to North
Coast Singers, SDPAA sponsors the 2nd Sundays Concert Series and promotes the arts in the North San Diego County Coastal area.
NCS remains an outreach program of the San Dieguito United Methodist Church and is sustained by contributions from the community.

2004
Twenty two members of the choir toured Italy with performances in Venice, Florence and Rome, including a mass at St. Peters
Basilica in the Vatican.

Became a program of the San Dieguito Performing Arts Association
Premier of commissioned work, Jeff NevinSacred Words featuring all four ensembles, 125 singers in grades 2-12
Caprice worked with celebrated New York composer, Cary Ratcliff, in preparation for a performance of his music.

Celebrated NCStenth anniversary year with Many in One and A Wish for Peace on Earth concerts exemplifying our mission to teach
global understanding through song.

NCS has participated in many invitational Choral Festivals in the Southern California region, receiving exemplary comments
from professional adjudicators. Several singers have been selected to participate in national children's honor choirs.
North Coast Singers contribution to arts and culture in San Diego County includes: Boys and Girls Club and Rotary Club conferences
and meetings; the KUSI morning show; Kids for Kids Concerts; Scripps Hospital; area retirement and nursing homes; the Encinitas
Holiday Parade; Encinitas City Hall; Encinitas Day; Oceanside Day of the Arts; Carmel Valley and Carlsbad Libraries;
The Steven Birch Aquarium Member's Banquet; PTA, AARP meetings; the Education Awards Ceremony at Legoland; Encinitas Follies;
Encinitas State of the City Dinner; The 2nd Sunday Concert Series; and community sing-a-longs, "Sing San Dieguito" featuring
guest conductors such as Alice Parker and David Chase.
