Sally Husch Dean, Artistic Director, Director Caprice
Sally Husch Dean is the founding Artistic Director of the San Diego North Coast Singers Youth Chorus,
and has led this prestigious ensemble on national and international tours. She is also Director of Music for the Unitarian
Universalist Fellowship of San Dieguito in Solana Beach, California. She holds a Bachelor's degree in Voice Performance
from the University of California, San Diego, and is currently enrolled in a Master of Music: Choral Conducting Program at
California State University, Los Angeles. In 1997 she was one of six choral directors in the country selected for a fellowship
program with the well-known composer/conductor, Alice Parker.
Ms. Dean has directed local honor choirs, and worked
as a music consultant for the Encinitas Union School District. She has composed the music for four original children’s
music-theater productions, and has a choral work published by Colla Voce Music. Ms. Dean has studied conducting with Dr. David
Chase, voice with Ann Chase, and is a long-standing member of the La Jolla Symphony Chorus.
Monica Loebel-Ward, Director Brioso

Monica Loebel-Ward; Director, Brioso; received a B.A. in music from Tufts University and a Masters Degree
in Vocal Music from Boston Conservatory of Music. She has completed two levels of post-graduate Kodaly certification through
Palomar College. Mrs. Loebel-Ward is currently a K-8 music teacher at the Coastal Academy in Oceanside where she teaches general
and vocal music, and World Music Drumming. She also directs the Coastal Academy Musical Theatre Troupe, which is a company
of 60+ performers who have performed such junior musicals as "The King & I" and "Seussical, Jr."
In 2008, she was the recipient of the San Diego Educational Theatre Association's Rookie of the Year Award for excellence
in theatre. Monica has loved to sing ever since she was a young child and she enjoys nurturing the joy of singing in
her students and choir singers.
Pam Lindamood, Director Giocoso
Pamela Lindamood has enjoyed music and dance all her life. She has studied piano, flute, and voice and
received her BFA in Dance from U.C. Irvine. Pam has taught and directed a wide range of students. Her past experience includes
directing her church choir and teaching general music at Carrillo Elementary School in Carlsbad. Recently, she has assisted
Sally Dean with North Coast Singers' "Caprice" choir as a volunteer and currently directs the choir at San Marcos
High School. She also enjoys singing with Palomar Chamber Singers and the Palomar Chorale. Pam is thrilled to be a part of
North Coast Singers' staff and to be working with the "Giocoso" children.
Michelle Risling, Director Capella
Michelle Risling is currently earning a BA in Music Education, choral emphasis, at California State University,
Fullerton. There, she performs as a member of the University Singers, and was a Women’s Choir section leader for
several semesters. She currently studies voice with Janet Smith at Cal State Fullerton, and previously studied with
Ann Chase in San Diego. She is a member of the American Choral Director’s Association student chapter, and has
helped organize several high school and collegiate choral festivals at Cal State Fullerton. Michelle is also an alumnus
of the North Coast Singers Youth Chorus, in which she sang in multiple ensembles from 1994 to 2004. She also performed
with the adult ensemble, Amici, in 2007. In addition to conducting Capella, Michelle composes choral music, and was
honored to have an original song cycle performed by Caprice in 2004 and 2007. She continues to compose and perform in
the southern California area.
