Brioso (with vigor and spirit) is the 40 voice intermediate choir of North Coast Singers, directed by Monica Loebel-Ward and accompanied by Ronél Wishnuff. The singers are known for their lively spirit and incredible curiosity. Singers range from grades 4 through 8. Entrance to Brioso is determined by audition in which singers demonstrate the ability to: match pitch, maintain a part strongly in a round, and read beginning rhythms and solfege. Brioso studies beginning two-part harmony, improving vocal tone quality, and the ability to read rhythms and solfege at a more advanced level. Brioso has performed at several local festivals, as well as the Encinitas Pre-Holiday Parade Concert and the Oceanside Day of the Arts.
