Giocoso (cheerful) introduces the joy of choral singing to 30 beginning singers in grades 2-5. The focus of beginning choir is to help each chorister develop his or her own natural singing voice within a community of fellow singers. Weekly rehearsals incorporate singing games, movement and beginning solfège as an approach to musicianship and vocal exploration. Age-appropriate repertoire emphasizes unison singing, partner songs and rounds. Giocoso Choir participates in local performances and in combined choir winter and spring concerts.

2. Commitment to regular attendance

3. Ability to focus and follow directions

4. Willingness to work as part of a team
